On 23 April 2014 I will be taking part in World Book Night’s 250,000 book giveaway to celebrate and share a love of reading. 35% of the population don’t currently read for pleasure: in teenagers and young adults, that figure is as high as 46%; and in men, 42%. I will be giving away a dozen or so copies of ‘Rivers of London’ by Ben Aaronovitch. I hope that this book along with the others distributed during World Book Night 2014 will help to captivate new readers and get more people excited about reading. As J.K. Rowling says, ‘If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.’
