Giving voice to humanities research

The School of Advanced Study’s Social Scholar seminar series recently hosted an event exploring two different approaches to podcasting humanities research: first, Viva Voce and second, the Cambridge PhDcasts. Along with historians Richard Blakemore and John Gallagher I was a co-producer of the latter project. In this video Gemma Sou (The University of Manchester) introduces her series of four minute audio podcasts where researchers talk about their own research in an accessible way to a non-specialist audience. Then we hear from John about the PhDcasts, longer video podcasts in an interview format showcasing a whole range of humanities research to new audiences.

Anyone interested is encouraged to get in touch – you can usually find John on Twitter.
